Essential Functions:

  • Serve as a subject matter resource on pharmacy reimbursement issues specific to Medicaid, Medicare, commercial, and other payer types at both the federal and state levels and assistance on regulatory and legislative issues impacting chain pharmacy reimbursement.
  • Analyze, interpret, and track proposed and existing state legislation, regulations, and policies relating to issues impacting the retail pharmacy industry
  • Assist with tracking proposed and existing federal issues impacting the retail pharmacy industry
  • Draft regulatory comment letters, issue briefs, talking points, and other policy and advocacy materials to support state and federal government affairs activities to ensure that chain pharmacy positions on key issues are consistent and supported at the state and federal levels
  • Assist with research and analysis of reimbursement trends, market dynamics, and patient access to propose forward-thinking reimbursement initiatives that address harmful reimbursement policies and errors that affect pharmacy reimbursement
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications:

  • Pharm.D., Master of Public Policy, or Master of Public Health from an accredited school or related field in healthcare and pharmacy reimbursement
  • At least 5 years prior experience in healthcare reimbursement policy, including pharmacy-related issues
  • Healthcare-related research and technical writing skills preferred
  • Passionate about improving patient access and innovations in retail pharmacy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally across various audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities for multiple stakeholders
  • Highly motivated; able to work independently and in a team environment

Location:

This position is located at NACDS headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. NACDS team members work onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Teleworking is allowed on Mondays and Fridays.

This is a full time, regular position; salary is dependent on background, training, and experience. Pay: From $126,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
