Congressman Min is seeking a dynamic leader to fill the District Director role in his Costa Mesa Office in a full-time capacity.

The District Director serves as the Member's senior staffer in the Congressional District. The District Director represents the Member at events and meetings throughout the community, serving as the Office’s primary liaison with important local stakeholders. The District Director also manages and oversees all district office(s) operations, workflow, assignments of responsibilities, and performance of the team (e.g., constituent service representative/caseworker, staff assistant). This position works closely with the Chief of Staff, Legislative Director, and Communications Director to establish strategies, plans, and activities for the Member. Planning district-based press events and stakeholder engagements is a critical part of the role. The District Director will be expected to travel throughout the district at regular intervals to keep abreast of local concerns and is responsible for facilitating information sharing between the Member’s district and DC offices.

Skills that will be critical to success in this role include decision-making, political acumen, planning and coordination, public speaking, and a basic understanding of legislative process. Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference will be given to candidates who are familiar with Orange County, have previously managed staff, and possess experience developing outreach and/or communication strategies for elected officials or political candidates. Occasional travel to the Washington, D.C. office is required.
