Position Description

Bold.org is a unique platform that empowers donors to create, manage, and award exclusive scholarships, fellowships, and grants. As we continue to grow rapidly, we seek a Donor Relations Manager who can work closely with current and prospective donors to help them craft awards that align with their philanthropic goals.

Role Overview

As a Donor Relations Manager (DRM) at Bold.org, you will report directly to the Director of Donor Relations and work hand-in-hand with the other DRMs and the Scholarship Operations team. Your primary responsibility will be guiding donors through the process of creating scholarship funds and scholarships on Bold.org, from proposal to renewal. You will be the primary point of contact, ensuring donors have a seamless and fulfilling experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Become an expert in the Bold.org donor platform.
  • Engage with donors via phone, video, and email to understand and align their philanthropic goals with our platform.
  • Conduct 4+ hours of meetings daily with prospective and current donors.
  • Support donors throughout the entire process, addressing questions and adjusting funds and scholarships as needed.
  • Represent the Bold.org & Bold Foundation brand and mission of fighting student debt to donors, working with them to realize their potential impact.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for donor accounts, developing trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Solicit and analyze donor feedback to share with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
  • Identify opportunities for donor referrals, testimonials, and campaign examples to showcase our best users.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining educational materials for Bold.org donors.
  • Coordinate between donors and our Operations and Marketing teams to ensure scholarships are appropriately reviewed and awarded.
  • Collaborate directly with Product to ensure a successful donor experience on the platform.

What You’ll Bring

  • 2-4 years in account management, customer success, business development, or customer experience is required. A background in fundraising and/or working with donors or nonprofits is a strong plus.
  • A joy in learning new tools and software, with relevant experience in CRM software (we use HubSpot).
  • The ability to manage multiple donor relationships and conversations simultaneously, transitioning quickly between calls, coordinating scholarship operations, and addressing email inquiries.
  • A dedication to helping donors achieve their goals, advocating for their needs, cheering them on, and championing user requests internally.
  • Comfort and grace when discussing deeply personal topics, especially with donors creating scholarships to memorialize loved ones.
  • The ability to build trust quickly and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with polished, academic grammar and strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to give and receive feedback thoughtfully and easily, working well within a team environment.
  • A proven track record of learning quickly and figuring things out independently.
  • Drive and passion for working in a dynamic, fast-paced remote company with little hierarchy. Taking joy in the work, and being proud of the mission.
  • You are generally a pleasure to work with and contribute positively to team culture.

Location and Time Commitment

We are fully remote - you can work wherever you’re most productive. This is a high-ownership, high-freedom role. This means that it’s not a 9-5 and you’ll often need to go above and beyond. It also means that while we generally work in US time zones, we don’t care when exactly you’re working and encourage you to structure your day to support your ideal life.

Compensation

Our compensation packages are designed to make this your dream job for both the short and long term. Each compensation package includes base salary and equity. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and unlimited PTO.

Compensation Range: $65K - $75K
