Job Description
Position Summary:
- Fill a key position within the ESF Center supporting development of content around the global energy transition, environmental economics, and infrastructure; urban economics; and industrial economics
- Maintain high standards of objectivity, reliability, accuracy, and data integrity
- Adhere to and maintain all standards and procedures necessary to protect the integrity, and the confidentiality of The Conference Board’s proprietary information
- Perform additional duties as needed to carry out the mission and vision of ESF
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to research on the global energy transition, environmental economics, and infrastructure
- Publish regular periodicals on the macroeconomic implications of the energy transition, environmental policies, and investments in infrastructure for the US and global economies
- Contribute to research on translating macroeconomic themes to business operations
- Publish regular periodicals on the how 30,000-foot concepts like growth, inflation, labor markets, rates affect business activities on the ground. Additionally, how businesses are either benefited or challenged by changes in public policy and taxation in the US and around the world
- Contribute to research on the future of cities, including business development, labor market dynamics, housing, infrastructure, greening, safety, consumption, and investment
- Publish regular periodicals on the macroeconomic implications of public policy, COVID-19, and demographic trends for cities in the US and around the world
- Deliver economic presentations to The Conference Board members, the press and the public
- Participate in webcasts, podcasts, conferences, member and non-member briefings
- Engage members on the ESF Community, and Experts Live
- Represent The Conference Board at conferences and in the media
- Partner with researchers in the CED Public Policy and ESG Centers at The Conference Board
- Incumbent will report to Sr. Economist of Urban, Industrial, Environmental/ Energy/ Infrastructure Research
Qualifications:
- Masters or Ph.D. in Economics and at least 5 years of research experience
- Advanced degree in an appropriate field of economics or environmental science required
- Position requires a proven record in writing and speaking on sensitive topics
- Maintain and continually advance his/her/their professional expertise in overall research, publication, and information service activities
- Remain vigilant in advancing The Conference Board's strong reputation for quality product
- Professionalism in all contacts with the media, Associates, clients, government agencies, and personnel in other TCB divisions and departments
