A Thoughtful Approach to Compensation

The hiring range for this role is $55,000 - $63,000. We will not negotiate for compensation outside this range. Your exact salary will depend on your experience, and alignment with similar roles at the Association of Legal Administrators.

About the Opportunity:


The Education Coordinator is responsible for delivering and supporting the organization's education programs and the ALA Certified Legal Manager (CLM)® Program. This role oversees the execution of web-based courses, webinars and virtual conferences, while also managing key internal and external certification functions.

As a primary point of contact for learners and certification candidates, the coordinator ensures a seamless experience from registration through post-event follow-up. This position works closely with colleagues across all departments to support platform functionality, maintain program quality and advance ALA's educational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

·        Coordinate and manage the execution of virtual events, including platform setup, speaker logistics, event run-of-show development and technical rehearsals.

·        Administer CLM certification program operations, including application review and approval, candidate eligibility tracking, exam scheduling, credential issuance, recertification and ongoing credential maintenance.

·        Serve as the primary support contact for event participants, contracted speakers and certification holders, providing timely assistance and troubleshooting platform or access issues.

·        Maintain accurate records in the association management system (Fonteva) and ALA's learning management system (Elevate), including registrations, attendance, certification status and program activity.

·        Generate and analyze post-event and certification program reports, including attendance, engagement, satisfaction and exam performance metrics, for leadership review.

·        Monitor and support compliance with ALA's CLM program standards and external continuing education and accreditation requirements, including SHRM, HRCI and NASBA, ensuring program integrity and credential value.

·        Assist in the development and maintenance of ALA’s speaker database.

·        Serve as staff liaison to ALA volunteer leadership groups as assigned.


About You

 

You Have:

·        2–4 years of experience in event coordination, member services or certification/credentialing administration.

·        Proficiency with webinar/virtual event platforms and LMS or certification management software.

·        Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent programs and deadlines.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills for member-facing interactions.

·        Detail-oriented, with experience maintaining data accuracy across multiple systems.

Preferred:

·        Experience with an association or nonprofit setting.

Core Competencies:

·        Ability to plan, schedule and manage multiple virtual events/webinars simultaneously (registration, speaker coordination, run-of-show).

·        Proactive, resourceful problem-solver who can self-prioritize, quickly assess issues, adapt in real time and make sound decisions under pressure.

·        Working knowledge of virtual event and LMS platforms, including troubleshooting common technical issues live.

·        Basic reporting/analytics skills.

·        Strong written and verbal communication for member/participant support (pre-event, live support and post-event follow-up).

·        Patience and clarity in explaining certification requirements, deadlines and processes to a non-technical audience.
