Position Summary:

The Events & Activations Temp will work with the Events & Activations staff under the direction of the Associate Director of Events & Activations, focusing on HRC’s fundraising Dinners and Signature Events across the country. Events Administrative Temp must be extremely proactive, detail oriented, with database experience and demonstrate aptitude to handle a multitude of details simultaneously. This position will be responsible for fulfillment operations, auction organization, and administrative support.

The Events & Activations Temp will also support the Events & Activations team’s Pride program, facilitating logistics for HRC’s presence at Pride events nationwide. This position will also lead on restocking and fulfilling all merchandise and materials for HRC’s Pride participation.

PLEASE NOTE: This position is in-person 5 days a week, based in Washington, DC and is not eligible for remote or regular telework status. This is a six-month temporary position starting in late January 2026 and ending in late July 2026.


Position Responsibilities:

Participate as an integral part of the Events program, with responsibilities including:

  • Administrative support and data entry related to HRC’s internal database and auction system with new items from Silent Auction.
  • Ensure auction items that are delivered or picked up are properly logged and stored.
  • Handle all follow-up regarding auction winning bidders, including connecting winners with experience contacts, ensuring delivery of mailed items, etc. during the event) and at other events as needed.
  • Manage and track shipping of materials for multiple Dinner and Signature Events weekly.
  • Keep track of Events inventory and replenish as needed, and provide administrative support for Events.
  • Lead application submissions for festival and parade participation.
  • Assure logistical on-the-ground preparedness of upcoming Pride festivals and events, including but not limited to proper rental equipment arrangement, application submission, insurance requirements, shipment tracking etc.
  • Manage integrity and accuracy of data entered into both internal database and external volunteer website.
  • Report out on results and upcoming events on a regular basis and present various sets of data in a legible manner.
  • Track Pride-related travel for several staffed events.
  • Organize and process revenue and confidential membership information.
  • Play an active role in fulfilling Pride and Event shipments for events nationwide, ensuring quality control measures for all shipments leaving the building.
  • Monitor the status of shipments to various events in the field, troubleshooting as necessary to ensure timely delivery.
  • Organize and effectively manage the storage of materials. Manage an accurate inventory of all materials. Organize the receiving and restocking of materials returned from events.
  • Provide weekly reports to the Membership Outreach and Events team on status of inventory, shipments, and general fulfillment operations
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

  • One to three years of successful administrative or program support is required.
  • Exemplary time management skills and the ability to prioritize urgent items.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail is required.
  • Works well in a team and collaborative environment.
  • Must have a professional and responsible manner.
  • Previous experience in fulfillment and shipping operations or retail preferred.
  • Previous experience managing an inventory system preferred.
  • Experience and comfort with Microsoft Office Apps and Google Drive Suite, with a particular emphasis on spreadsheets.??
  • Personal interest in and commitment to LGBTQ+ rights is required.
  • May travel 10% or less.
