As an External Affairs Associate, you will support External Affairs priorities, which include policy advocacy and government relations, advancement of our health equity initiatives and stakeholder engagement with a cross-section of industry leaders.

The External Affairs team is focused on raising awareness of Morgan Health's work, maintaining connectivity to other industry leaders, partnering with organizations around shared goals/priorities, and convening stakeholders interested in improving employer-sponsored health insurance in the United States.

This position is an excellent opportunity for an individual to learn more about employer-sponsored insurance and opportunities for innovation. It also presents an opportunity to gain this experience while working in a high-profile, fast-paced start-up environment within JPMorgan Chase.

Job Responsibilities


  • Support execution of the External Affairs strategy by working closely with our team to communicate Morgan Health's progress to key stakeholders, including policy reforms, investments, innovative programs, research, and data insights.
  • Work closely with our Communications team on joint initiatives, specifically to support the development, distribution and tracking of relevant external-facing content for key stakeholders.
  • Provide updates and strategic insights on relevant organizations, joint initiatives, and advocacy campaigns
  • Coordinate Morgan Health-sponsored events with external stakeholders, including invitations, on-site logistics and event follow-up
  • Provide project management support to track various initiatives, timelines and deliverables
  • Maintain Morgan Health's stakeholder contact list with up-to-date contact information, engagement history, etc.
  • Engage in person, emails and on the phone to assist with stakeholder/relationship management

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 2-3+ years of related public affairs and/or health care work experience with a in a consulting, provider, payor, government agency or on Capitol Hill
  • B.A. required, advanced degree preferred
  • Basic understanding of the U.S. health care system, including key industry and government stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills (e.g. ability to oversee timelines, operational work plans, etc.) and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to interface with senior management and work well with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent verbal / written communication / presentation skills
  • Efficient skills using MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint (absolutely required)
