Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03), a distinctive voice in Congress and Co-Chair of the Blue Dog Coalition, is seeking Interns for our Washington, D.C. and District offices for Fall 2026.
Preference will be given to applicants with ties to Southwest Washington. Applicants of all backgrounds should be encouraged to apply, including those who work in the trades, on family farms, or at local small businesses. You do not need to be currently pursuing a college degree or be a college graduate to apply.
Interns will work in a fast-paced environment as part of a hardworking team dedicated to serving the people of Southwest Washington. Candidates should have an interest in community service, an ability to think critically and outside the box, and work well in a team environment.

Please make sure to include your connection to Southwest Washington/the PNW (if any), the dates you are available to start and end your internship, and availability during the week.
Intern responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Answering phone calls, leading Capitol tours (in DC), attending briefings and hearings, drafting constituent correspondence, conducting legislative research, compiling press clips, assisting with various administrative tasks, helping staff community events and conducting community outreach (in Vancouver).
We offer both part- and full-time in-person internships and require a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week for part-time interns. Internships are paid, depending on hours worked and funds available. Interns may also earn college credit, depending on the requirements of their academic institution.
*Semester start and end dates are flexible based on each applicant’s schedules and programs.
