About the Israeli-American Coalition for Action:

A partner organization of the Israeli-American Council, IAC for Action is a non-profit, nonpartisan organization that advocates to policymakers nationwide on behalf of the Israeli-American and pro-Israel communities, ensuring their voices are heard on a range of issues at the federal, state, and local levels, including:

Fighting the delegitimization of Israel: IAC for Action is currently working with U.S. policymakers to advance legislation that will prevent Federal, state, and local government entities from investing in or doing business with those that participate in boycotts against Israel or against Israeli companies, and to implement and enforce existing anti-BDS legislation

Strengthening the U.S-Israel relationship: IAC for Action supports the IAC’s efforts to build partnerships between Israel and the United States. This includes strategic partnership agreements between state and local government entities to advance collaborative innovation through intergovernmental working groups, sister-city relationships, and exchanges between academics, civil society organizations, and policymakers.

Domestic policy: IAC for Action advocates for a range of domestic issues including fighting antisemitism, Jewish education, improving safety, security, and emergency preparedness of Jewish entities, protecting the campus climate for Jewish students, and other issues important to the Israeli-American community.

Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for building grassroots engagement with the Israeli-American community to support and implement advocacy and community organizing in the various IAC regions. The right candidate will manage strategic organizing efforts to increase our community’s involvement in civic engagement, defending civil rights, and strengthening the U.S-Israel relationship.

The candidate will manage several regional communities throughout the IAC network. Preliminary travel will include the larger IAC regions including but not limited to Los Angeles, New York, Washington DC, Las Vegas, Seattle, Boston, Florida, and Arizona.

Must be willing to advocate for the mission of the IAC and IAC for Action and provide excellent individual support for community members. Must demonstrate a strong commitment to creating sustainable communities of advocates dedicated to the Israeli-American community and a passion for strengthening the US-Israel relationship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop organizing campaigns around key advocacy and civil rights issues

Represent IAC for Action in coalition meetings and work collaboratively on joint efforts with IAC program partners and coalition partners

Aid in developing strategic partnerships with community-based organizations working in diverse communities across IAC Regions

Speak publicly on behalf of IAC for Action at rallies, town halls and synagogue events

Aid in implementing and delivering training that promote grassroots leadership, strategic issue campaigns, organizing, and coalition building on priority issue areas

Help cultivate support of community organizations, public officials, law enforcement officers, faith leaders, business leaders, donors, and new and diverse communities for organizing campaigns

Work collaboratively with grassroots leaders, allies, and IAC for Action team to execute large and effective community actions

Identify, cultivate, and develop strong community leaders who will lead campaigns that pursue IAC for Action advocacy and civil rights priorities

Act as main point of contact for affiliate program partners and use the CRM as a system to organize and track volunteer requests, identify volunteer opportunities, assignments and training

Help develop timelines and budgets for assignments programs and ensures that tasks are completed on time and within budget. Define, track and measure progress of initiatives against goals.

Keep up on current local, state, and national legislative news

Ensure compliance with conditions of 501c3 and 501c4 guidelines for approved activities

Required Skills and Abilities:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; majors in communications, public policy/public affairs, international relations, or political science preferred.

Proven track record (3 to 6 years of experience) developing data-driven strategies, translating messaging into a range of high-quality digital content, targeting audiences, and using technical know-how to manage digital communication and engagement tools; experience assessing website data via Google analytics, email marketing, social networks and survey data.

Competitive candidates will have managed organizational and/or political community outreach and specific, action-oriented campaigns from start to finish.

Familiar with Excel, Microsoft Word, and managing a CRM

Excellent verbal and written communications skills .

Strong analytical, writing and proofreading skills; familiar with implementation of AP Style.

Outstanding attention to detail and organizational and interpersonal skills to collaborate with others and solve problems creatively; self-starter with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.

Judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.

Driven to maintain awareness and understanding of relevant news affecting the Israeli-American community and the U.S.-Israel relationship as well as digital communications and industry developments.

Strong passion for the Israeli-American community and the U.S.-Israel relationship.

Must be fluent in Hebrew .

Familiarity, knowledge, and experience working with the Israeli-American community

Work experience with a non-profit organization or in a related field

Willingness and flexibility to change job requirements as the team grows
