Job Description
Tracy Mitrano for Congress (NY-23) is seeking to hire passionate and motivated candidates for Field Organizers to begin August 1.
Field Organizers will be responsible for:
Recruiting, training and managing interns and volunteers to participate in direct voter contact
Coordinating volunteer events including but not limited to canvasses, phone banks, and text banks (these tactics will vary based on environment due to COVID-19 and ongoing monitoring of CDC and regional health guidelines)
Volunteer recruitment, message amplification and engagement in relational organizing tactics via both online and offline platforms
Engage local Democratic committees, progressive organizations and community leaders to build support and momentum for the campaign
Develop volunteer leaders and grow volunteer teams to execute a successful GOTV operation
Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Previous campaign experience is preferred, but not required
Ability to manage multiple projects at once and adhere to tight deadlines
Superb written and verbal communication skills and an ability to connect with people from different backgrounds
Familiarity with technology including SMS, social media and voter database (Votebuilder/VAN)
Access to a vehicle or other reliable transportation
A sense of humor and a commitment to defeating Tom Reed in November
This position is based in Ithaca, NY (remote work to begin immediately due to COVID-19).
