Description

Analilia Mejia seeks a Finance Director to lead fundraising for her re-election campaign. This is a senior, full-time role based in Washington, DC office or Montclair, NJ, working as a strategy partner and detail-oriented executor alongside Analilia, the campaign manager, and consultants to set, track, and hit ambitious fundraising goals.


Core Duties

  • Develop and maintain a campaign budget and fundraising plan with measurable goals
  • Track and report progress toward goals and adapt strategy as needed
  • Develop and steward a network of individual and institutional donors, including Analilia's existing DC-based finance network, to fundraise on behalf of the campaign
  • Identify and cultivate new donor prospects
  • Staff and direct call time for Analilia, coordinated around her congressional voting schedule, committee obligations, and travel
  • Plan virtual and in-person fundraising events in DC, the district, and across the country
  • Coordinate with any affiliated leadership PAC or joint fundraising committee, where applicable
  • Ensure accurate donor records, bookkeeping, and financial reporting, with a strong focus on FEC compliance for incumbent officeholders
  • Manage thank-you letter and donor follow-up programs
  • Build and manage a team of finance staff, vendors, and consultants to support all of the above

Required Qualifications

  • Performed in a mid- to senior-level finance role during at least 2 campaigns and been part of political campaigns for at least 3 cycles, or bring equivalent experience from high-stakes roles in politics, advocacy, or organizing
  • Strong working knowledge of NGP VAN, ActBlue, and other digital finance and project management tools
  • Agility and discipline in strategic planning
  • Strong copywriting and professional correspondence skills
  • Sound data management and analysis skills
  • An eye for detail and a passion for efficient workflows
  • Professional integrity, discretion, manners, and grace — fundraising is all about trust, reputation, and relationships
  • Comfort working within the compliance and scheduling constraints of a sitting Member of Congress


Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience fundraising for an incumbent Member of Congress or similarly high-profile officeholder
  • Familiarity with DC finance networks, PAC fundraising, and leadership PAC compliance
  • Comfort with occasional lightweight graphic design for smaller projects (invitations, event promotion); major projects are handled by paid communications staff


Term

Full-time through the primary election, with the opportunity to continue through the general election if the campaign advances.
