Fund Development Manager
Full-Time, On-Site | Grand Rapids, MI
Schedule: 40 hours/week (evenings and weekends as needed for events)

A Glimpse of Africa (AGOA) is seeking a mission-driven Fund Development Manager to lead and grow the organization's fundraising, grant development, donor engagement, and partnership-building efforts. This role is central to ensuring AGOA's long-term sustainability and expanding its impact among African immigrants, refugees, and the broader community.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Fund Development Manager works closely with leadership, program staff, finance, the Event Coordinator, and fundraising committees to support year-round fundraising activities. This position also plays a key role in planning and executing AGOA's signature Fundraiser Gala and other major fundraising events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement AGOA's annual fundraising plan in collaboration with the CEO

  • Set, track, and report fundraising goals

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners

  • Identify and solicit new supporters through outreach, campaigns, and events

  • Coordinate donor recognition and appreciation efforts

  • Collaborate with AGOA's grant consultant to identify funding opportunities

  • Support grant proposals, reporting, and deadline tracking

  • Track donations, pledges, and grant income in coordination with the finance team

  • Lead planning and execution of AGOA's annual Fundraiser Gala, including sponsors and table hosts

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit development or fundraising preferred

  • Grant writing and reporting experience

  • Familiarity with donor management (CRM) systems preferred

  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

  • Experience working with diverse communities preferred
