Diplomatic Perspective is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit preparing the next generation of global leaders from the Greater Washington, D.C. area. Since 2019, we have focused on building transferable soft skills that promote college access, career readiness, civic engagement, and global mobility. Grounded in international affairs, our programs introduce students to national security, technology, diplomacy, and youth civic engagement—critical fields aligned with U.S. strategic interests. Through hands-on global projects, mentorship from industry and government professionals, passport access, and international experiences, we equip youth with the tools and exposure needed to thrive in a global economy, future workforce, and political arena.

Program Overview
The Diplomatic Leaders Development Program (DLDP) at Columbia Heights Educational Campus (CHEC) equips high school students with essential skills in diplomacy, leadership, and global awareness. Through experiential learning, mentorship, and cultural engagement, DLDP fosters critical thinking, collaboration, and civic responsibility.
Position Summary
The Global Peace Fellow will play a pivotal role in supporting DLDP’s delivery at CHEC. This fellowship is ideal for individuals passionate about youth development, international education, and diplomacy. Fellows will facilitate weekly sessions, manage program logistics, and contribute to curriculum enhancement and impact reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Session Facilitation & Engagement
· Lead in-person sessions at Bell Multicultural High School every Wednesday from 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM, December through May, following the DCPS school calendar.
· Deliver interactive, culturally responsive programming aligned with DLDP curriculum pillars.
Program Support & Logistics
· Conduct outreach to potential guest speakers and coordinate their participation.
· Procure supplies and materials for sessions; ensure timely delivery to CHEC.
· Administer pre- and post-program surveys and partner feedback surveys.
Curriculum Development & Research
· Update and refine curriculum materials to align with high school standards and best practices in international education and youth development.
· Research global education trends and youth leadership frameworks to enhance DLDP programming.
Monitoring & Reporting
· Prepare weekly and monthly reports detailing program outcomes and KPIs.
· Track student engagement, survey results, and session effectiveness for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
· Strong interest in diplomacy, international affairs, and youth development.
· Experience in facilitation, curriculum development, or program coordination preferred.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
· Commitment to DP’s mission and values of equity, inclusion, and global citizenship.
Fellowship Details
· Term: December – June
· Hours: 10–15 hours per week (includes session prep, facilitation, meetings, research, and reporting)
· Location: CHEC – Bell Multicultural High School, Washington, D.C.
· Compensation: $2,000 stipend for the term
· Reports to: Executive Director
