Job Description
The Marwood Group, a health care consulting, advisory, and research firm whose clients are financial services firms and health care companies, is seeking to add an analyst- or associate-level candidate to its life sciences federal policy team in Washington, DC. The target start date for this position is year-end 2022 or January 2023.
The individual will be responsible for researching and analyzing the impact of legislative and regulatory activity in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and medical diagnostics space. Analysts and associates will often be staffed on teams led by senior Marwood staff and can expect to conduct independent research on issues related to the FDA, Medicare, and other federal health policy issues.
Candidates should have knowledge of US health care policy from a regulatory and legislative perspective and exhibit strong intellectual curiosity.
Desired experience:
- Familiarity with the U.S. health care system
- Experience analyzing policy issues that impact pharmaceutical, medical device, and medical diagnostics
- 2+ years of relevant experience preferred
- Undergraduate degree in the life sciences
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience at a relevant federal agency, in Congress, or with a health care consulting firm
Candidates should possess the following:
- Ability to conduct independent research
- Strong written communication skills, including facility with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
- Well-developed analytical skills
- A willingness to meet new challenges with enthusiasm
- Ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environment
Salary and title are commensurate with experience. Compensation includes an annual performance bonus and benefits. The position will be based out of Marwood’s Washington, DC, office; staff are currently in a hybrid work environment that is part in-office and part work from home.
