DSCC INDEPENDENT EXPENDITURE (IE) DIRECTOR
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is hiring an IE Director for the 2023-2024 election cycle. The DSCC is the Democratic campaign committee dedicated to protecting and expanding the Democratic Senate majority.
The DSCC IE Director will report directly to the DSCC Executive Director and lead the independent expenditure program to elect Democratic Senators in 2024. This is a senior level position that requires extensive political campaign experience with a strong preference for statewide management experience.
The IE Director will make independent strategic decisions to guide the DSCC’s IE expenditures in critical Senate races. The IE Director will manage a multimillion-dollar polling and paid communications budget; direct IE spending; manage IE research staff; and hire and manage all IE consultants for state specific work.

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead extensive pitch process to build IE state consultant teams in partnership with the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director;
- Develop and execute the DSCC IE’s strategic polling and paid communications plans for competitive US Senate races;
- Manage the DSCC IE budget
- Manage the DSCC IE’s staff including the research team and administrative support staff;
- Work with DSCC legal and compliance team to follow all accounting, reporting, and payment requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 3 cycles managing statewide campaigns and/or independent expenditure operations;
- Experience overseeing multimillion-dollar paid communications programs across multiple mediums and media markets;
- Advanced understanding of paid media plans, quantitative and qualitative research programs, and budgeting;
- Experience in a fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously, a keen understanding of politics and messaging, and ability to work collaboratively among a variety of different teams.
