Duties

Serves as the Department's lead officer in providing intelligence support on global health, water security, and wildlife trafficking/nature crimes issues.,Participates in Intelligence Community working groups preparing intelligence analyses and setting priorities with implications for U.S. foreign policy positions related to global health, water security & wildlife trafficking/nature crimes issues.,Directly advises the Assistant Secretary, Deputy Assistant Secretary and other senior officials and staff on issues reported in intelligence information and assessments.,Provides oral briefings and written products to senior officials and serves as liaison between key INR staff and counterparts and experts in other bureaus.

Qualifications

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing research, analysis, advice, and guidance on all aspects of political science, international relations, economics, history, geography or other related disciplines involving global health, water security, and wildlife trafficking/nature crimes issues Experience working with the Department of State and the Intelligence Community in carrying out national intelligence activities Experience in providing oral briefings and written analyses for senior government policymakers on all relevant issues involving global health, water security, and wildlife trafficking/nature crimes issues Experience working with interagency processes, particularly but not exclusively within the Intelligence Community and other national security agencies There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
