DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE


Summary

Provides staff and technical management, coordination and oversight for International Program accomplishments. Ensures the development and execution of international programs, coordinate the staffing, execution and compliance with standing agreements, and coordinate with other Defense offices/organizations to prepare the US position in agreements. Support the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Chemical and Biological Defense (DASD(CBD)).

Duties

Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:


Provides authoritative and direct consultation, advice, and policy interpretation to the DASD(CBD), OSD, and other Federal agencies. Coordinate all logistics to ensure US agendas are met and US Principles represent their Nation appropriately for all international engagements for which the ODASD(CBD) is responsible.

Serves as a special advisor to the DASD(CBD) and ASD(CBD) on International Policy and Industrial Policy in order to assist with ensuring compliance with all Executive Orders and new policies; reducing supply uncertainty of physical and medical CB supplies and materiel.

Prepares agendas, meetings, notes, presentations, speeches and other requirements in order to ensure the DASD(CBD) and ASD(NCB) and associated offices are properly prepared for all international engagements, meetings, and conferences on Chemical and Biological Defense.

Employs skill and diplomacy in dealing with senior officials in the Federal Government, industry and the international community. Organizes and/or conducts extensive research and support activities for programs, initiatives, or international organizations assigned and prepares recommendations, reports, and briefings.
