International Visitor Exchange Specialist

Summary
The position is assigned to the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) Division, Office of International Visitors, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA/PE/V/R). The incumbent has progressively broadening and increasingly independent responsibilities and authority to ensure the successful outcome of thematically and/or geographically focused IVLP projects. The incumbent also has progressively broadening authority and responsibility in advising U.S. missions and posts abroad.
Duties
Manages annual country IVLP allocations, provides guidance to U.S. missions abroad on their optimal use, and monitors spending throughout the year to ensure that missions do not exceed allocations without the Branch Chief's approval.
Reviews and assesses the appropriateness of missions’ nominations based on established IVLP criteria.
Provides guidance and direction to National Program Agencies (NPAs) and cooperative partners on programmatic, project-specific, and policy issues. Ensures each IVLP initiative and project advances U .S. policy goals and State Department objectives.
Prepares oral and written IVLP briefings for senior U S Goverment officials, private-sector partners, and participants. Establishes effective working relations with private and public sector partners in support of all IVLP projects.
