Job Summary
The Investment Analyst will support Halcyon’s funding vehicles – currently the Halcyon Fund, Halcyon Angels, and the Halcyon Opportunity Microloan Fund – through a combination of investment-related, administrative, and business development activities, working directly with the Director of Impact Investing and the Fund Co-Managing Directors. The Investment Analyst will assist in the full lifecycle of investing and lending activities, from finding potential deals, conducting diligence and reporting on the various portfolios.

Job Responsibilities
Investment sourcing and screening
• Screen and analyze applications to the microloan fund
• Prospect new impact investment opportunities for the angel network
• Screen potential investments for the angel network
• Engage with companies in Halcyon’s programs to understand progress and        investment horizons to source for Fund and/or angel network

Diligence/Research
• Participate in due diligence for the angel network, including gathering relevant    information, researching and talking to references and customers, researching    potential competitors, talking with technical consultants to evaluate the    company’s technology and intellectual property, talking with existing investors,    conducting additional research
• Document interviews and relevant meetings to share with investors and    prospective investors
• Other research activities to support Halcyon’s impact investing activities
   Analysis/Reporting
• Prepare reviews of microloan pre-applications to recommend next steps for    applications
• Draft investment memos for angel network and Fund
• Survey Fund and angel network portfolio companies to collect relevant    information for reporting to investors and/or creating impact reports
• Survey loan recipients to collect relevant information for reporting to funder
• Prepare reports regarding portfolio companies
Logistics
• Coordinate screening and pitching processes for angel network
• Support investment committee meetings as needed for Fund
• Other logistics support as needed for events, including angel network dinners,    Fund investment committee meetings, investing education programs, etc.
Other
• Other activities as needed to support elements of the investment and lending    processes.
Position Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree - or equivalent work experience - preferred
• At least three years of professional experience in startups or investment   preferred
• Outstanding analytical skills
• Passion for making the world a better place through business
