Senator Mazie K. Hirono (HI) is now accepting law clerk applications for the Summer 2026 semester. Law clerks will work with Senator Hirono’s Judiciary Committee team in Washington, D.C.. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to legislative and legal research; attending briefings; and preparing for legislative, nominations, and oversight hearings. We are looking for strong writers that are detail-oriented, possess critical thinking and analytical skills, discretion, timeliness, and can able to work in a fast paced environment.
To apply, you must currently be enrolled in an ABA accredited J.D. program. Academic credit or a stipend may be available based on each institution’s criteria. While some hybrid work is available, this is an in-person opportunity, and law clerks must be based near Washington, D.C. for the tenure of their clerkship. Full-time (35-40 hrs week) availability is preferred.
