Job Description
The Office of Congressman Ted Lieu seeks an organized, passionate, and team-oriented Legislative Assistant to handle a diverse legislative portfolio. Ideal candidates will have policy experience, excellent writing skills, the ability to multitask and the capacity to meet tight deadlines. Experience with foreign policy is a plus.
Responsibilities include: developing legislative initiatives and monitoring legislative developments in Committee and on the House floor; drafting and editing correspondence; meeting with constituents and advocacy groups; and drafting memos and talking points. This is not an entry-level position. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, sharp attention to detail, good time management skills, strong political acumen, an ability to work under pressure, and a good sense of humor.
The salary for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 per year. Salary and title are commensurate with experience.
