Legislative Correspondent (Health, Education, Labor)

Senator Edward J. Markey (D-MA), a member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, and Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Primary Health and Retirement Security, seeks a Legislative Correspondent to cover health, education, labor, and pensions issues. Primary duties include processing incoming mail and drafting outgoing constituent mail. Other duties may include meeting with stakeholders, conducting research, handling a small policy portfolio, and assisting legislative staff working on issues under HELP Committee jurisdiction. A successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and highly motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Prior experience working on Capitol Hill and a public policy background are preferred.
