Job Description
Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester seeks a highly motivated and experienced Counsel to handle judiciary, national security, defense, immigration, foreign affairs, and related policy issues. Responsibilities across their portfolio include developing and executing a legislative and oversight agenda in coordination with the Legislative Director; drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legislation, amendments, and memoranda; monitoring and analyzing key policy developments; and managing the process for nominations considered by the judiciary, national security, defense, immigration, and foreign policy committees and across their portfolio. Candidates must have excellent writing and analytic skills and prior experience or knowledge working on judiciary, defense, immigration, foreign affairs, and other national security-related issues. A JD degree is required; previous Hill experience, an active security clearance, and Delaware ties are preferred.
