Job Summary:


The Manager of CEO Office and Board Relations provides confidential, accurate, and timely administrative support to the CEO and serves as primary liaison to the Board of Directors. This role manages executive operations, supports donor and Board relations, streamlines internal processes, and strengthens organizational communication and supports culture-building initiatives for staff that reinforce the mission and values of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. 


Executive Support



  • Provide high-level administrative support to the CEO, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.

  • Manage the CEO’s calendar, schedule meetings, coordinate logistics, and field requests from internal and external stakeholders.

  • Prepare for meetings and events, including agenda development material preparation and follow-up tracking.

  • Prepare and submit expense reports, mileage logs, time management documentation and reimbursement requests.

  • Represents the CEO at meetings or events as designated.

  • Build strong internal and external relationships, serving as the administrative face of the organization to staff, Board members, Cleveland Museum of Natural History partners, and community stakeholders.


Donor & Development Support



  • Assist with prospect research and donor relations tasks as directed.

  • Develop and organize moved management tasks for CEO to execute. 


Board of Directors Support



  • Serve as the primary administrative liaison to the Board of Directors.

  • Organize and plan Board meetings, retreats, and committee meetings, coordinate scheduling and logistics.

  • Prepare and distribute meeting notifications, agendas, packets, and related materials. 

  • Record, compose, and distribute accurate meeting minutes.

  • Support the CEO and Board Chair in developing and sharing scheduled Board communications.

  • Assist with the recruitment, orientation, and onboarding of new Board members.

  • Coordinate Board appreciation efforts: coordinate “shout-outs” for Board meetings, outgoing Director gifts, holiday gifts.


Staff Engagement & Appreciation



  • Collaborate with human resources to execute staff appreciation initiatives and recognition activities. 






Education and/or Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree and five or more years of progressively responsible experience supporting C-suite executives, executive leadership teams, or Boards of Directors. 

  • Demonstrated success serving as a strategic partner to senior leadership in a complex, fast-paced environment.

  • Experience leading executive projects, coordinating cross-functional initiatives, and supporting organizational governance.

  • Experience working with Board governance processes and document management systems preferred.

  • Demonstrated high level of proficiency in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite, (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and collaboration technologies. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including editing and proofreading;

  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion

  • Impeccable attention to detail, strong prioritization skills, and agility to multi-task and change priorities quickly.
