New York Peace Institute is a leader in conflict resolution, providing mediation, conflict

coaching, and restorative justice practices to help New Yorkers navigate disputes peacefully. We

work in communities, courts, schools, and organizations to shift responses to conflict from

avoidance or escalation to collaboration and dialogue.

About the Role:

We are seeking engaged, mission-driven individuals to join our Board of Directors and help

advance our work. Board members provide strategic oversight, fundraising support, and

governance to ensure the long-term success of our organization.

Responsibilities Include:

• Championing and advocating for New York Peace Institute’s mission.

• Supporting fundraising efforts and expanding our network of donors and partners.

• Providing expertise in key areas such as finance, law, nonprofit leadership,

communications, or community engagement.

• Attending and actively participating in quarterly board meetings and committee work.

Who Should Apply?

We welcome diverse leaders with a passion for access to justice, community empowerment, and

conflict resolution. Ideal candidates will have experience in fundraising, nonprofit leadership,

legal affairs, finance, communications, or strategic growth. Prior board experience is helpful but

not required.
