Internship Role Description NONPROFIT PROGRAM MANAGEMENT INTERN

About Read Better Be Better (RBBB) RBBB is an education nonprofit addressing Arizona's literacy crisis. We connect young readers and youth leaders to inspire a love of literacy and leadership. Interns join a mission-driven, collaborative team and contribute meaningfully to programs that make a real impact.

Overview Of Internship Role As the Nonprofit Program Management Intern, you will work directly with the program management team to support administration, assist in creating program materials and facilitating community outreach and external communications.

Reports to Designated Program Department Supervisor

Hours & Schedule A weekly commitment of 6-15 hours is required. Interns will be expected to commit to a set schedule within RBBB's main office hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

Start Date January/February (for spring); May/June (for summer); August/September (for fall)

Program Duration Internship positions are meant to be short-term and based around academic semesters and last for 3-4 months. We offer: Spring, Summer and Fall positions.

Work Environment Office, in-person

Position Type This internship is unpaid. Read Better Be Better is fully committed to providing eligible interns with all documentation necessary for them to receive course credit for their time with the organization, if they wish to do so.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in program development as needed 
  • Communicate with high school participants in a professional manner  
  • Coordinate with high school students and department staff to ensure effective program implementation
  • Support staff to implement internal and external communications
  • Support the creative process of materials (print and electronic)
  • Provide feedback to Program Department to assist in the implementation of both pathways programs
  • Provide general administrative and office support
  • Design and complete projects based on personal interest and organizational need
  • Perform other general Program Department duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Prior experience working with high school student
  • Pursuing a degree in Nonprofit Management, Program Development, Education or related field
  • Former RBBB Program Participants are highly encouraged to apply.
