Job Summary:
As the Outreach Director, you will develop and implement a comprehensive community strategy to engage and mobilize key stakeholders, influencers, and coalition leaders. You will be responsible for developing the playbook for how we launch farms and farmers in new neighborhoods across the United States. You will be a key leader in how we tell the story of our dedicated farmers.
Our work will inspire neighbors to reshape their neighborhoods into a movement that redefines urban agriculture across the United States. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves to roll up their sleeves and work in a fast-paced dynamic startup environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop the community engagement strategy (neighborhood, city, county, state, and national).
- Oversee and manage the development of neighborhood strategy teams in every city where we build a farm.
- Attend in-person community events.
- Write content for blogs, email newsletters, and websites.
- Hands-on help with activation projects (assembling mailers, coordinating samples, etc.)
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 3-5 years of experience, preferably in issue advocacy, organizing, coalition building, and/or campaigns on the national or state level.
- Demonstrated record of project and staff management.
- Proven track record building and managing coalitions among diverse stakeholders, reaching constituents.
- Proven ability to write for multiple audiences and translate complex information clearly.
- Experience creating and managing social media content and strategy for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities change rapidly.
- Fearlessness in building relationships and unconventional alliances.
- Must be willing to work non-traditional hours including weekends and evenings and travel as needed
Compensation and Benefits
- $60,000 - $80,000 based on experience and qualifications
- Benefits and benefit plans that the Company generally makes available to full-time employees
