Veterans Come First is seeking a motivated Executive Director for a part-time, remote role which starts as incentive based (based on funds raised) with a clear path to full-time employment and renumeration as we secure funding and resources to launch our programs. This is an exceptional opportunity for a self-starter who excels in fundraising and donor relations, setting and building up non-profit organizations and is passionate about veterans support.

Founded in 2019, Veterans Come First is a registered 501c3 dedicated to providing vital support to veterans and their families. We're focused on empowering them to thrive.
Your Role (Part-Time, Remote):
Initially, your focus will be on the following:
- Strategic Fundraising: Developing and executing strategies to secure sponsorships, donations, grants and partnerships.
- Donor Relations: Cultivating and expanding relationships with potential and existing donors and partners
- Networking: Leveraging your connections within the veteran non-profit community to generate leads and opportunities.
- Strategic Planning: Contributing to the organization's strategic direction and growth, including the development and implementation of key programs.
- Setting Up Programs: As funding arises, the role will include overseeing in setting up and overseeing our programs on housing, landlord veteran incentive program (VIP), veteran support workshops and community support centers.
Potential to transition to Full-Time:
As we secure consistent funding and launch our programs, this role will transition to full-time, encompassing broader executive responsibilities in leading and managing these initiatives.
Compensation:
- This is primarily an incentive-based role during the initial part-time phase.
- You will receive a competitive percentage of the funds you successfully secure through sponsorships, donations, and grants.
- Specific percentage breakdowns will be discussed during the interview process, and laid out in a contract.
- As we transition to full-time, a competitive salary and benefits package will be implemented, in addition to continued performance based incentives.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in fundraising and donor relations within the veteran non-profit sector.
- Established network of contacts within the veteran support community, particularly with potential donors and sponsors.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently, remotely, and with a high degree of self-motivation.
- Location: Preferably in Maryland or Washington D.C., but open to candidates with strong connections regardless of location.
