Position Summary


We are seeking a highly organized Payroll Specialist to assist our Finance and Human Resources teams. The payroll specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining payroll for employees, as well as maintaining employee and salary databases. This team member will work closely with the CFO and Human Resources Manager on payroll and employee onboarding. The Payroll Specialist will also be responsible for additional tasks as assigned. Candidates who have previous payroll experience are excellent communicators, self-starters, have strong attention to detail, and work in a team environment should apply. 


Responsibilities:


  • Prepares payroll for processing using ADP Workforce Now 
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of all payroll functions, company policies and procedures, federal and state wage and hour law, facility pay practices, timekeeping, and information systems
  • Review timecards for accuracy
  • Addresses issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors
  • Prepares reports for the finance department and upper management
  • Handles basic bookkeeping tasks as assigned by the CFO
  • Assists CFO with invoicing and budgeting
  • Handles employee onboarding tasks as assigned by the Human Resources Manager
  • Keeps track of hour rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, and new hire information
  • Uses various software, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software.
  • Collects mail and other correspondence
  • Provides general administrative support


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field
  • 3-4 years of payroll processing experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience 
  • Strong ability in using MS Office and G Suite
  • Experience using ADP Workforce Now and BambooHR
  • Working knowledge of national, state, and local wage and hour laws
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
  • Team player with superior interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Professional, detail-oriented, and customer service oriented
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
