Starting salary range: $110,733 - $119,267/Annually, $4,258.96-$4,587.19/Biweekly Full-Time; Exempt, Salaried This is an in-office position for the first 100 days. Requires in-office work five (5) days per week. Following the first 100 days, staff have the flexibility to work two (2) days remotely. Mandatory in-office work days are Tuesdays & Wednesdays. About The Role As part of the Philanthropy external fundraising team responsible for developing and strengthening long-term relationships on behalf of the California Community Foundation (CCF) with key donors, prospects, and fund advisors, including leading one-on-one consultations, advising on best practices in philanthropic giving, and strategically adding value to the CCF donor experience through aligned giving opportunities. This position requires an individual who can fundraise for CCF initiatives and project manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high-quality level of client service. It also requires an individual who can identify and proactively offer solutions to isolated and systemic problems.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree and/or applicable sales/fundraising experience preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in fundraising, donor or alumni relations or similar setting preferred. Experience in major gift solicitation with a proven track record in strategizing the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of high-level donors
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of grantmaking processes and the nonprofit community in Los Angeles County.
Responsibilities
  • Proactively and systemically develops and strengthens long-term relationships with an assigned portfolio of existing donors, prospects, and fund advisors.
  • Advises donors as they build a giving plan and philosophy, by assisting in the development of a meaningful vision, offering information on best practices in giving.
  • Responsible for contributing to the CCF established annual fundraising goals as an individual contributor.
  • Participates as an integral member of interdepartmental teams for the purpose of increasing legacy, discretionary and aligned giving from CCF fundholders, donors, and prospects.
  • Passionate and fluent in describing the trends, challenges and solutions addressed within the foundation’s Strategic Framework.
  • Understands and can speak to the laws and regulations affecting charitable grantmaking, particularly from charitable funds including, donor advised and scholarship funds as well as supporting organizations.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills. Superior and proven customer services skills. Ability to secure the confidence of top donors and prospects through long-term relationship building activities to facilitate contributions to donor funds and CCF initiatives.
  • Internet competency and strong computer proficiency, including mastery of the Microsoft Office software suite and a familiarity with database software, is required. Experience with client management databases is preferred. Willingness and ability to learn appropriate database, spreadsheet and other computer programs.
  • Ability to think critically and prioritize work to adjust to multiple demands.

Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plans are provided at no cost for all full-time staff. Life Insurance is covered at 100% of the employee's annual salary, plus $25,000. AD&D Insurance is covered at 100% of the employee's annual salary.

CCF contributes 10% of all employee's salaries into our 403b retirement plan. CCF subsidizes monthly transit passes for staff who commute via public transportation. CCF also offers an assortment of snacks available to all staff in our breakrooms, and an on-site fitness center.

After one year of service, all full-time employees are eligible for tuition reimbursement of up to $15,000 for higher education. CCF also offers a student loan repayment program of $100/month for all full-time employees after one year of service.
