Senator Chris Van Hollen seeks Policy Advisor to manage portfolio of issues in the Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs. Individual must have experience with and knowledge of current legislative and policy issues including financial market regulation, corporate accountability, affordable housing, consumer protection, trade, and small business. Responsibilities include preparing committee hearing and markup materials, and other briefing memos; staffing the Senator at hearings, meetings, and other events; drafting and developing legislation and amendments; representing the Senator with constituents, Federal agencies, and other outside meetings. Qualified candidates should be independent self-starters with strong research and analytical skills, and the ability to produce quality work under pressure in an extremely fast-paced environment. Capitol Hill experience a plus.
