Description

Looking for a Policy Analyst to support a dynamic program in Arlington (Rosslyn), VA. Individual works at SAIC site (and some work at the Pentagon/Mark Center) in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) Federal Advisory Committee providing analytical and administrative support. Required ability to travel to DoD installations and facilities to attend meetings and work on classified systems. The candidate will assist with coordinating practical aspects of meetings, analytical reporting, and draft senior-level correspondence and communications. Nature of work actively engages issues, actions, and initiatives concerning, or relating to national security critical topics, to include science and technology. Particular emphasis includes topics of interest to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering.

Responsibilities Include

  • Research and analysis, development, and coordination of reports, preparation and review of documents, correspondence with senior-level DOD and other USG officials, administrative DoD processes
  • Comprehensive meeting support such as hosting unclassified and classified meetings at contractor facilities or in the Pentagon/Mark Center, drafting meeting minutes, researching and developing subject matter sources (both unclassified and classified), etc. Includes meeting preparation of agenda development, notetaking, and correspondence, troubleshooting issues that may arise, works with security/IT experts for unclassified virtual meetings using Microsoft Teams and secure video teleconferencing. Frequent trips to Pentagon/Mark Center to utilize classified systems and attend and host meetings

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years related experience (national security)
  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral (interact with a lot of people – to include, in person)
  • Familiarity with operations/processes within the DoD/Pentagon
  • TS clearance with ability to obtain and maintain SCI*
