Although the length of time this position will be active cannot be determined, it has the potential to extend up to 3 years (36 months). Primary Purpose Of Position
The Secretary's Office is seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking Policy Analyst to join our team! The Policy Analyst will support the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) Office of the Secretary's implementation and administration of Atlantic Conservation Coalition (ACC) program through policy analysis, development, and implementation.
The ACC program is a multi-state coalition with North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland whose mission is to increase carbon sequestration through protection and restoration of the regions’ forests, wetlands, and coastal habitats. DNCR is the administrating entity for the awards. The Policy Analyst will report to the DNCR Policy Director.

Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Provide support implementation of the ACC through researching, analyzing trends, and develop recommendations for the successful implementation of the program. This may involve analysis of state, federal, and local policy trends that could impact the ACC.
- Support data collection and progress reporting and tracking for performance measures of the ACC.
- Lead the DNCR Green Team, lead the drafting of the agency Climate Strategy Report, and initiatives to promote conservation, sustainability, and strategic initiatives within the Department.
- Support implementation of Executive Order 305.
- Lead coordination of annual Climate Strategy Report.
- Other duties as assigned by Policy Director.
- Typical work schedule is Monday- Friday 8am - 5pm.
