Meta is seeking an experienced professional to join its Facebook Product Policy team as a Product Policy Manager. In this role, they will provide direct policy counsel to product and engineering teams as they launch new and improved product experiences, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders such as policy, product, legal, communications, design, and marketing teams.The ideal candidate will have expertise in the product development lifecycle and technology policies with an understanding of the political and regulatory landscape including industry trends, and experience counseling product teams to build with safety, integrity, privacy, transparency, and expression in mind. In this role, they will proactively develop solutions and prioritize multiple projects while making a global impact.


Product Policy Manager Responsibilities:

  • Provide policy guidance for product launches across Facebook products, protecting and promoting user voice and expression while minimizing business risks and ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory and policy environments
  • Develop and implement forward-thinking policies and guidelines to govern Facebook products and features
  • Create clear risk assessments and build scalable frameworks to operationalize consistent mitigations across a broad range of products
  • Evaluate and provide guidance on the policy implications of Facebook products, features, and services
  • Work with engineers, designers, lawyers, product managers, and other stakeholders to help product teams address policy, legal, engineering, user interface, business, and marketing considerations
  • Identify, monitor, and analyze policy issues affecting Facebook products at the state, national, and international levels in partnership with the other Policy teams
  • Inform policy development work, partnering with subject-matter experts to develop global policy standards
  • Operate under your own initiative while managing multiple internal stakeholders, balancing different opinions and perspectives, and assessing risk to deliver effective policy advice to leadership
  • Act as an escalation point of contact and manage internal communications for policy issues
  • Address escalations and press inquiries related to supported products



Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Public Affairs, Public Administration, Law, Political Science, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in public policy, policy enforcement, law, government, national security, law enforcement, media, product management, or a related discipline
  • Expertise in technology policy, including key stakeholders and current industry trends
  • Expertise in policy development, counseling, and risk assessment
  • Effective communication skills, with experience explaining complex issues clearly and effectively to broad audiences
  • Experience working independently and cross-functionally, applying analytical thinking to solve ambiguous and complex problems
  • Track record of collaborating effectively with product teams and understanding the product development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects and building consensus across cross-functional teams
  • Skilled at navigating escalations and resolving time-sensitive issues



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience developing policies for technology companies, with a focus on content moderation and platform governance
  • Experience in crisis management, risk management, or decision support, involving cross-functional coordination and communication to leadership
  • Master’s degree or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in a related discipline

$151,000/year to $216,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
