Political Data Researcher

Job description:

LegiStorm LLC is seeking a full-time, remote political data researcher with superb online investigative talent who can solve our toughest 3-pipe research problems.

As a key member of our content team, you will become an expert on congressional, political and lobbying data and be responsible for noticing and connecting the smallest of details. Your main focus will likely be the U.S. Congress, our most important data set.

If you have writing experience or talents, you might be asked to help with writing short news/blog items as well as putting together a weekly newsletter. These items sometimes are cited in national news stories.

You must know or have:

• Exceptional internet research skills and the ability to use search engines to their fullest.
• An eye for detail and the ability to recognize irregularities
• Strong logical-reasoning skills and an understanding of complex situations
• A skeptical attitude towards data, questioning it and seeking out potential issues
• An enterprising work ethic and the ability to work independently
• The ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-moving environment
• General political awareness
• A quiet, professional work space with a reliable internet connection and (ideally) at least two external monitors.Our tech stipend can get you the perfect setup.
• Strong writing skills preferred with opportunity to use those skills if desired

Qualifications:

• A minimum of three years of work experience
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
