The Oklahoma Democratic Party, the state-wide organization responsible for mobilizing Democrats, is looking for an intern interested in learning all aspects of the communications and media in the political field. The intern who fills this position should expect to learn the field from top to bottom and will complete this program ready to enter any political organization with excellent skills.

Interns have the opportunity to be involved in various parts of the campaign, not limited to field, finance, press, or social media work. The Oklahoma Democratic Party is looking for a commitment of between five (5) and sixteen hours a week for ten to twelve weeks. We will work with your school to provide academic credit if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Draft solicitations for
• Facilitate mail
• Attend political, non-profit, advocacy, or labor union community organizing meetings and take
• Make cold calls for donations on behalf of client
• Staff party leaders during fundraising call
• Staff client
• Complete research assignments as
• Draft one-pagers on prospective
• Create social media posts and videos for
• Volunteer recruitment and retention
• Assist with ad-hoc administrative duties as
• Compile contact lists
• Greet guests and clients

Requirements

• Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or Political major
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
