Job Description
Congressman Mike Levin (D-CA-49) is seeking a Press Secretary/Digital Manager in his Washington, DC office to assist in executing a robust and fast-paced communications strategy and expand his presence online and across all social media platforms.
Responsibilities include crafting and executing social media strategies, managing mass communications plan (franking), creating and managing social media content across various platforms, designing graphics and print materials, recording and editing videos, writing email newsletters, drafting press materials, writing remarks, pitching stories, daily clips emails, and more. The individual will work closely with the Communications Director on day-to-day operations of the communications team that also includes a Press Assistant and Press Intern.
Candidates should have experience with social media strategy, strong writing skills, proficiency in graphic design, and experience with both videography and photography. Ability to work well with others, manage competing priorities, and turn around high-quality products under tight deadlines are a must.
This is not an entry level position. Two to three years of press-related work experience is required and prior experience on Capitol Hill or with advocacy campaigns are preferred. Salary range is $60,000-$70,000, commensurate with experience.
