Your Role and Responsibilities
The Chief Privacy Office (CPO) is an area of IBM focused on Data Privacy and surrounding topics, such as the implications of the myriad of updated and new global privacy regulations and changes to the conditions of global data transfers. We are looking to grow the team to monitor all relevant developments of privacy laws which are in the legislative process across the globe to influence privacy policies in accordance with the define privacy policy priorities of the company, to better plan regulatory compliance work and to establish internal privacy policies across the company. The team is global, with frequent contact maintained through webex and slack, creating an ideal role for candidates in a variety of locations.
Responsibilities
Monitor global legislative developments with regards to privacy, data protection and related regulatory fields (such as data governance of non-personal data and Artificial Intelligence)
Analyze business and compliance impact in co-operations with various business units (e.g. marketing, HR) and the legal department
Report relevant developments, potential impacts and business opportunities to senior leadership team
Proactively shape the privacy and data policy strategy of the company and communicate with relevant stakeholders (policymakers, industry associations, internal and external clients)
Develop in close cooperation with business units and other corporate functions internal privacy policies (e.g. for controller and processor roles, HR and marketing data).
Identify trends in privacy and broader data regulations and proactively position the company in a complex and fast evolving regulatory environment which is crucial to thrive innovation.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Deep Privacy expertise and global policy development, audit experience
5 yrs+experience in global privacy laws, compliance or public policy
Ability to navigate in a multinational corporate environment
Confident ability to communicate in written English
Ability to work under pressure
