Position: Program Director for Student Conduct Technical Assistance, VRLC National Campus Grant

Status: Full-Time (Preferred, but flexible)

Location: Remote, with a preference for ET zone work hours

The Victim Rights Law Center (VRLC) is a nonprofit law center that provides free legal services to sexual assault survivors and national training, mentoring, resources, and other support for lawyers, advocates, university administrators, and victim service providers on the needs of survivors of gender-based violence. The VRLC’s mission is to provide legal representation to victims of rape and sexual assault to help rebuild their lives, and to promote a national movement committed to seeking justice for every rape and sexual assault victim. Position Description:

The VRLC is the recipient of the Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) Student Conduct Technical Assistance grant. The grant is focused on providing basic and advanced training and consultation to institutions of higher education focused on dating and domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking (DDVSAS). The Project Director will support institutions as they strengthen policy, develop protocols, enhance on-campus training, and build capacity to implement a more effective response to DDVSAS. The Project Director will create and deliver in-person and online trainings and develop curricula that is consistent with innovative approaches to adult learning.

This is a fully remote position that requires travel within the U.S. 4-6 times per year. VRLC strives to build and strengthen a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and consultation to campus administrators in the states, tribes and territories who receive funding from the OVW’s Campus Grant program.
  • Create, update, and deliver culturally responsive, remote, and in-person trainings focused on responding to sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking reports and complaints on campus. Trainings may cover topics such as supportive measures, questioning skills, report writing, assessing credibility, sanctioning practices, restorative justice and informal resolution options, and policy development.
  • Develop, draft, edit, and/or review tools and resources created for student conduct administrators, advocates, Title IX coordinators, investigators, and other members of Coordinated Community Response Teams on campus.
  • Track and maintain data related to the delivery of training and technical assistance and grant reporting.
  • Support ongoing grant reporting to OVW.
  • Supervise the campus grant program coordinator.
  • Ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and the ability to interpret federal, state, and local equal opportunity and non-discrimination laws and regulations including Title IX, Clery Act, and VAWA.
  • 3+ years of higher education experience, specifically Title IX and/or student conduct. This may include training college and universities or advising parties.
  • Experience designing, creating and delivering in-person and virtual presentations, trainings, workshops, and companion materials.
  • Commitment to working in support of DDVSAS survivors and/or underserved communities (e.g. LGBTQ, communities of color, people with disabilities, minors, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and shifting demands and still meet project deadlines.
