Job Description
Overview:
The Programs & Operations Associate plays a central role in supporting SAAPRI’s programmatic initiatives, research projects, and organizational operations. This position bridges program execution and internal infrastructure, ensuring that SAAPRI’s work across civic engagement, health equity, and access to justice is implemented effectively and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination & Implementation
- Support planning and execution of SAAPRI’s core programs: Democracy & Civic Action; Health Equity & Wellness and Access to Justice
- Coordinate events, webinars, and community initiatives (e.g., Engaged Communities Series, advocacy events)
- Track deliverables across fellows, interns, and advisors
- Assist in developing program materials (reports, toolkits, presentations)
Research & Project Support
- Support ongoing research initiatives, including:
- Data collection and organization
- Literature reviews and report drafting
- Community-based research coordination
- Assist with translating research into accessible outputs (briefs, social media, community guides)
Operations & Organizational Support
- Manage internal workflows, timelines, and task tracking systems
- Support onboarding and coordination of new hires and volunteers
- Assist with organizational logistics (meetings, documentation, internal communications)
- Maintain program documentation and institutional knowledge
External Engagement & Communications
- Support outreach to partners, collaborators, and stakeholders
- Assist in event promotion and communications
- Coordinate follow-ups and relationship tracking
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, public health, or related field
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Experience working in community-based or nonprofit settings
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Interest in South Asian communities, civic engagement, and social justice
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $50,000 – $55,000
- Compensation is commensurate with experience
