Public Affairs Manager
Aypa Power, a Blackstone portfolio company, is a leading developer, owner, and operator of utility-scale energy storage and hybrid renewable projects that power our communities and cities. As a leader in our industry, we have over 22 GW of utility-scale energy storage and hybrid renewable energy projects in development and 33 projects in operation or construction across North America.
We seek a Public Affairs Manager to efficiently assist in advancing Aypa’s policy and regulatory campaign priorities in key markets nationwide. This position will sit on the Government & Regulatory Affairs team and be responsible for promoting effective collaboration with public stakeholders, community leaders, and environmental groups while responding to national trends and creating opportunities for proactive engagement that drive positive policy outcomes. The role will also assist internal communications in support of the senior leadership team. Strong verbal and written communication skills and a disciplined approach to managing competing company interests are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as relationship liaison with private sector partners, industry associations, and relevant community stakeholders directly or in coordination with the broader Government & Regulatory Affairs team
- Develop a deep understanding of key business priorities and policy trends to inform and drive reactive and proactive campaigns across key states and markets
- Review, analyze, and track legislative and regulatory developments that could impact the clean energy sector and Aypa. Provide timely insights and recommendations to internal teams to ensure proactive engagement on changes in the policy and business environment
- Develop a deep understanding of business priorities and policy trends to inform Aypa’s reactive and proactive work across the country through direct public engagement, trade associations, stakeholder meetings, and industry allies
- Identify and support thought leadership opportunities for members of Aypa’s leadership team
- Support team members on internal messaging and outreach
- Other duties as assigned or required
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 to 5 years of experience in energy/climate policy and communications
- Ability to prepare clear and concise communication materials for internal and external use (e.g., presentations, memos, public comments, testimony, internal communications)
- Track record of managing high-stakes policy issues at the state and local level, ideally in an in-house role
- Strong understanding of advocacy and engagement strategies across diverse markets and stakeholders
- A collaborative approach to work, with an ability to seamlessly support the company’s development, commercialization, and internal communications teams
- High initiative and desire to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with senior mentorship but limited task-level direction and supervision
- Willingness and ability to travel within the US for various functions, hearings, and community open houses
Compensation and Location:
- Salary: A base salary commensurate with experience
- Bonus: An annual bonus will be awarded based on both individual performance as well as the overall success of the business

- Location: Remote (USA); Ability to work in the United States is a requirement
- Travel: Candidate must be willing to travel 25% across the US
