Illuminate USA, a new company established by two global leaders in renewable energy, is building one of the largest solar panel manufacturing factories in the Western Hemisphere. This 1.1 million-square-foot assembly plant is currently in the advanced stages of preparation in the Columbus, Ohio area. Job Summary:
We are currently looking for a Public Affairs Specialist for our new factory in the Columbus, Ohio area. This position will be responsible forproviding detail-oriented, operational, and organizational support for the Head of Public Affairs. This position will drive Illuminate USA’s commitment to bringing passion and purpose to light and help build the company’s reputation as being a trusted Ohio manufacturer, workplace, and community partner.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Head of Public Affairs in the creation of communication and outreach that exhibit professionalism, accuracy, and communicate Illuminate USA’s vision in an effective way.
This includes, but is not limited to:
· Creating press releases, social media posts, creative content, and internal communications.
· Building community engagement including executing projects, event planning, and presentations.
· Cultivate collaborative relationships with internal and external resources to support outreach projects.
· Monitor media coverage and public affairs campaign performance. Track and analyze relevant metrics to measure the impact and effectiveness of our efforts.
· Present a polished, professional image to audiences and serve as an ambassador of Illuminate USA.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Public Policy, or a related field; minimum of three years of related experience in public affairs, with a focus on media relations and strategic communications; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
- Experience in public affairs or communications in corporate or government setting (manufacturing or renewable energy industries a plus).
- Familiarity with manufacturing and energy policies and regulations.
- Experience in crisis communication and issues management.
- Proficiency in using digital media platforms and social media for outreach purposes.
- Proven track record in implementing successful outreach strategies and campaigns.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages and narratives.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in media monitoring and measurement tools.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
