This is an exciting opportunity for the selected candidate to play a central role in structuring and executing public finance transactions while developing strong client‑facing and deal management skills.

Our nationally recognized Public Finance practice group provides comprehensive legal services to support the finance-related needs of our private and public sector clients nationwide. We serve as counsel to state and local governments, issuers, underwriters, investors, and private placement lenders. One of the first nationally recognized bond counsel firms in the country, Robinson+Cole has been listed in The Bond Buyer’s Municipal Marketplace (Red Book) since the early 1940s and routinely ranks among the leaders, both nationally and regionally, as bond counsel and underwriters’ counsel.

This position offers exposure to complex, high-impact transactions involving governmental issuers, institutional investors, nonprofit organizations, and major financial market participants, with a primary focus on the affordable housing, student housing, and workforce housing sectors. The role also entails serving as bond counsel, representing the public finance group in debt issuance and restructuring matters, and other types of bond transactions.

This is a unique opportunity to join a team of experts in the public finance field and support critical public infrastructure. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of two years of experience working on deals with state and local governments in any legal capacity. Top academic and transactional credentials, excellent writing, research, negotiation, and communication skills are required. Experience and/or aptitude with a wide variety of financial concepts is essential, and prior work experience in the banking or consumer finance fields is helpful. Well-qualified candidates will thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and benefit from direct partner access, flexible work arrangements, and long-term career development opportunities. The ideal candidate for this role will have substantial public finance experience, particularly in structuring bond transactions, with expertise in municipal bonds.
