The Office of Congresswoman Kathy Castor (FL 14), Ranking Member of the Energy & Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Energy and a senior member of the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party, is hiring a full-time Scheduler in her Washington, DC office.  This is not an entry level position; it requires someone who is able to be on call and available to assist the Member outside of regular business hours. Capitol Hill and/or executive assistant experience is preferred.

The Scheduler will work closely with the Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, and Communications Director to ensure all scheduling needs are met. Successful candidates will develop in-depth knowledge of the district’s geography and key stakeholders in order to meet strategic goals and priorities. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responding to all incoming meeting, event, and scheduling requests  
  • Arranging all travel for the Member;
  • Communicating key information and scheduling changes to the Member, staff, and affected stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner
  • Working with the legislative team to ensure the Congresswoman has all relevant briefing materials for meetings, hearings and DC events
  • Managing the Staff Assistant and daily operations of the front office, supporting the Staff Assistant/Legislative Correspondent in overseeing the internship program
  • Assisting the Chief of Staff with office operations and liaising with the Architect of the Capitol, Superintendent's Office, and Tech Partners Program to ensure regular office maintenance/technology assistance as necessary 
  • Occasionally acting as the Member’s driver while the Member is in the Washington, D.C. metro area. 

The ideal candidate would be detail-oriented, able to juggle multiple tasks at once, have excellent interpersonal skills, be a problem solver and be comfortable working in a team environment.

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 annually commensurate with experience. The office offers a competitive package of benefits including health insurance, retirement match, student loan repayment program, etc.
