Job Description
The organization seeks a Senior Attorney to oversee the Central Records and Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) Unit within the State Police. This role involves managing legal inquiries, drafting responses for the Superintendent, and coordinating with various stakeholders on FOIL requests and appeals. The Senior Attorney will also provide technical assistance on subpoenas and records retention, and may represent the organization in court as needed. Candidates must possess a law degree, be a member in good standing of the organization Bar, and have at least two years of post-bar legal experience, with preference given to those familiar with FOIL.
