Senior Development Coordinator
Location: San Francisco (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite as needed)
Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 depending on experience

Position Summary
The Senior Development Coordinator is a key member of the Development team and serves as a strategic partner to frontline fundraisers. This role leads the systems, data, and processes that support fundraising performance, with a strong focus on prospect pipeline management, portfolio optimization, and data-driven insights.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring the Development team operates efficiently and effectively—strengthening moves management practices, supporting prospect identification and research, and maintaining high standards of data integrity across systems. The role also supports Board and committee engagement and collaborates closely with leadership on campaign tracking and donor strategy.

Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Operations & Pipeline Management
- Lead and refine prospect engagement workflows with emphasis on major gift prospects ($50,000+ capacity)
- Manage portfolio tracking, moves management systems, and fundraising dashboards
- Support prospect research and segmentation using CRM and wealth screening tools
- Maintain accurate and actionable prospect profiles for fundraising staff
- Track fundraising activity, proposals, and pipeline progress to identify opportunities and gaps
- Ensure data integrity in CRM systems through ongoing updates, training, and quality control
- Support capital campaign tracking, reporting, and donor engagement activities
Prospect Research & Data Analysis
- Conduct donor research using internal databases and external tools
- Evaluate prospect capacity and philanthropic inclination using wealth and giving indicators
- Generate reports and insights to support fundraising strategy and decision-making
Donor Cultivation & Stewardship Support
- Support donor acknowledgment processes and ensure timely, accurate communications
- Assist with donor outreach activities including thank-you calls, emails, and engagement touchpoints
- Coordinate new donor welcome processes and screening workflows
- Support mailing list generation and segmentation for appeals and communications
- Ensure donor recognition is accurate and aligned with organizational standards
Board & Volunteer Engagement
- Support Board and committee operations including scheduling, materials, and communications
- Maintain accurate records of Board and committee membership in CRM and internal systems
- Assist with onboarding of new Board and committee members
- Track electronic votes and support governance processes
- Support engagement of volunteer fundraisers and provide tools and updates
Events & Campaign Support
- Generate targeted lists for events, appeals, and donor outreach
- Identify key prospects for staff and Board engagement at events
- Ensure accurate data capture and coding of event participants in CRM systems
- Provide logistical and on-site support for events, meetings, and webinars
Administrative & Professional Development
- Support gift processing and acknowledgment workflows as needed
- Utilize shared project management and CRM tools to support team collaboration
- Participate in professional development in fundraising operations and prospect research best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2–5 years of experience in development operations, prospect research, fundraising coordination, or related nonprofit role
- Experience with CRM systems required; experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge strongly preferred
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret and present data clearly
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
- Interest in nonprofit work and commitment to the mission of GRF
