Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Clinton Foundation seeks an experienced and creative development professional with a proven track record working in a fast-paced environment in corporate, non-profit, and/or political fundraising. This individual will be a key member of the Development team's operations and will identify, research, profile individual, corporate, and foundation prospects; and will be responsible for managing vetting requests with the vetting team. In addition, this position will support management of the Department's prospecting, donor and active grant databases, as well as research-related vendor relationships.


The Development team works to secure the philanthropic resources necessary to advance the Foundation's mission through its programs and operations. The team works closely with volunteers and colleagues from across the organization to present the Foundation's case for support through gifts, grants, and sponsorships. Team members collaborate to maximize engagement and giving from individual donors and institutional funders alike.


Core Responsibilities


Prospect Research and Qualification


  • Research and identify new potential donors and sponsors.
  • Write and produce reports on prospects based on an in-depth analysis of data collected via research.
  • Establish requisite processes – in collaboration with program and Development colleagues – to identify and qualify prospective funders.
  • Offer guidance on donor strategy and identification of prospects, including gift capacity and inclination towards specific Foundation programs or subject matters.
  • Manage requests for vetting of potential donors, prospects, supporters, and sponsors, providing appropriate research to support decision making by vetting team and informing development lead with outcome of vets
  • Collaborate with multiple departments on organization-wide vetting strategy and protocols.


Prospect Management and Process Optimization


  • Identify and recommend prospects for assignment, using various tools to determine assignments including trigger scans, review of recent research, modeling results, data analysis, and review of donors who are upgrading/downgrading their giving.
  • Support management of the Blackbaud CRM database, creating and importing new records; responsible for accuracy of data; oversee prospect management; and produce queries and reports.
  • Generate financial reports and summaries on team's fundraising performance and goals.
  • Develop and manage systems and processes for portfolio optimization that align with fundraising and development revenue goals and encourage cooperation from individual and institutional giving teams.
  • Manage grant reporting process and tracks fulfillment of requirements for active grants and sponsorships to meet required deadlines. Tracks reporting deadlines and task assignments for open grants in CRM database.
  • Work with Development Services team to manage receipting and appreciation/acknowledgement of donor gifts annually.
  • Manage research-related vendor relationships. Maintain research resources and subscriptions.


Minimum Qualifications


What we're looking for:


  • Bachelors' Degree in related field
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in the field in positions of increasing responsibility. At least 2-3 of those years must have included either managing people or managing projects to completion.
  • Good working knowledge of the mechanics of fundraising at the individual, corporate, and institutional levels.
  • Proficient with CRM systems, MSOffice, and Internet required.
  • Portfolio management experience and working within complex organizations beneficial.
  • Knowledge of relevant analytical tools and grant databases beneficial
  • Ability to work in a varying schedule including nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, and work on multiple time zones, as necessary.


Compensation & Benefits


Our best estimate of the compensation range for this opportunity is $97 - 102K annually, depending on the experience you bring. This role is exempt for overtime pay. This range is based on NYC market rates and may be adjusted if you will be working remotely.
