Job Description
Senator Adam Schiff seeks a strategic and creative senior digital staffer to manage his digital and online presence, grow his audience, and tell the story. This staffer will work closely with the Senator, Communications Director and other senior staff to craft compelling content and partnerships, and view digital. The ideal candidate will view digital and traditional communications as all part of a broader media landscape, and work to expand the Senator’s reach across it in new and creative ways.
Location: Washington, D.C.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Senator Schiff’s online presence ensuring consistency across all digital channels and help drive rapid response communications online in a rapidly shifting environment.
- Craft a high volume of compelling content, including videos, graphics, animations, and copy for all social media platforms. This includes streaming live events, capturing and editing photos and videos, and producing frequent high-quality video content on cinema-quality equipment.
- Spearhead office’s collaboration with content creators and advise on engagement with new media entities and nontraditional outlets, including building and maintaining relationships to expand our digital reach and impact.
- Supervise Digital Manager, providing vision and guidance on digital strategy and output.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality products under tight deadlines, with a keen attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-2 years managing a digital media program, and minimum 4 years developing digital content.
- Mastery of video production and graphic design, with an emphasis on expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and After Effects).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and research skills.
- A deep understanding of social media platforms, with a focus on non-traditional political media spaces like YouTube and Substack.
- Availability for after-hours and weekend work.

You should be able to work quickly and collaboratively, think strategically in both proactive and reactive contexts, and be able to balance a variety of competing priorities. Creativity and an embrace of new mediums and stratagem is ideal, while remaining rooted in a voice and style that is authentic to Senator Schiff.
