Location:
Remote positions are open to applicants based anywhere in the continental U.S. Hybrid positions are open to applicants based in the Phoenix, Arizona area.

Position Summary:
This position will provide hands-on, tailored support to volunteer engagement staff, equipping them with the foundational building blocks to grow and sustain a volunteer program. The Senior Manager, Volunteer Engagement will partner with chapter leadership to drive transformative improvements in volunteer engagement within the chapter. In addition, the position will design, develop, and maintain comprehensive training curriculum and resources to support the Volunteer Portal, ensuring its seamless adoption and utilization across the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Independently acts as primary liaison between the National Office and select chapters, providing onsite onboarding and continuous support for new volunteer engagement staff. Primary focus will be on Enhanced Support, Corrective Action & Watchlist Chapters ensuring implementation of best practices tailored to chapter needs.
- Exercises discretion in advising and guiding chapter leadership on optimal volunteer engagement staffing structures and volunteer program strategies while driving effective implementation.
- Ensures seamless staff transitions within chapters, preserving the continuity and effectiveness of volunteer engagement programs.
- Works alongside the Director, Volunteer Engagement to analyze volunteer reports, leveraging data-driven insights to proactively identify chapters in need of additional support.
- Influences organizational change within chapters by guiding them toward best practices and industry trends that align with their unique needs.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with chapter staff to enhance utilization and engagement of volunteers to meet the organization's strategic goals.
- Owns the development of training and resources for chapter staff and volunteers, to facilitate implementation and ongoing use of Volunteer Portal.
- Works cross-functionally to develop and align on needs and make recommendations for future enhancements of the Volunteer Portal to the Director, Volunteer Engagement.
- Designs and delivers impactful training to enhance professional development for volunteer engagement staff.
- Reestablishes and leads the chapter peer-to-peer mentor program fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing amongst volunteer engagement staff.
- Advocates for volunteerism within the enterprise by strategically communicating opportunities through internal messaging.
- Performs other job-related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working in the non-profit industry; including direct experience in the volunteer engagement field.
- Minimum of 3 years of direct Make-A-Wish volunteer management experience preferred.
- Certification in Volunteer Administration (CVA) preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Salesforce required.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to thrive in a remote environment.
- Some travel required.
- May require occasional work outside a traditional Monday – Friday work week, and outside normal business hours.

$86,200—$97,000 USD
