We have been at the front lines of electing Democrats from Presidents, U.S. Senators and members of Congress, to governors and local elected officials. We have been at the cutting edge of some of the most innovative public advocacy campaigns in the country. Our record of winning elections and shaping public opinion is tough to beat.

Summary

The Strategy Group is seeking a full-time Senior Strategist to join our team for the 2026 election cycle.

Senior Strategists play a central role in shaping and executing campaign strategies for Democratic candidates, ballot measures, and progressive organizations throughout the 2026 election cycle.

This position is full-time but time-limited, expected to run through the conclusion of the November 2026 general election and post-campaign wrap-up period. The ideal candidate is a creative strategist and strong communicator who can manage multiple projects, clients, and deliverables in a fast-paced, collaborative political environment.

Senior Strategists are involved in every aspect of our operation, including reviewing polls, writing plans, drafting mail copy, conceptualizing creative concepts, and helping oversee mail design. All work is done in direct collaboration with our internal production department and our partners. This is an external-facing role as well, and Senior Strategists will work directly with clients at every level of the ballot and work collegially with other Democratic consultants across our party infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze polling data and voter research to guide targeting and messaging decisions.
  • Lead strategic planning and message development for client campaigns.
  • Create and manage mail plans in coordination with creative teams and partners.
  • Write compelling copy for direct mail, press releases, statements, and other materials.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to deliver cohesive, high-quality work.
  • Oversee creative concepts and production schedules, maintaining strategic focus under tight deadlines.
  • Manage client relationships, budgets, and project timelines.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in political strategy, communications, or campaign management.
  • Strong understanding of voter targeting, persuasion, and turnout strategies.
  • Exceptional writing, messaging, and editing skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple clients, budgets, and projects simultaneously.
  • Strategic, detail-oriented, and creative thinker who thrives under pressure.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, during peak election periods.

Location

This position is in-person, based in our Washington DC office.

Salary Range

$96,000 – $120,000, annually commensurate with experience and qualifications.
